Philipse Manor Hall
Historic Plaster Restoration Project
Milo Plastering was proud to participate in the restoration of Philipse Manor Hall, the oldest surviving building in Yonkers and one of New York’s most significant historic landmarks. Originally constructed in stages between the 1680s and 1750s, the manor required specialized restoration techniques to preserve its historic character while ensuring long-term structural integrity.
Our scope of work included traditional plaster restoration, skim coating, metal lath and wood lath installation, and the application of authentic three-coat plaster systems consisting of scratch, brown, and finish coats. Every phase of the project was completed using methods that respected the building’s original construction while meeting modern restoration standards.
Working within a structure of such historical importance required meticulous attention to detail, craftsmanship, and preservation-focused execution. The completed restoration helped maintain the architectural authenticity of Philipse Manor Hall while extending the life of its historic plaster surfaces for future generations.
